These instructions detail the process for assembling the book by hand — including printing, cover preparation, binding, and reinforcing the spine using a staple gun, or large stapler.
150 A4 pieces of paper (to print 300 pages)
2 glossy card sheets (front and back cover)
The book spine may be secured using:
A 23‑series stapler with size 20 staples, or
An ordinary staple gun (instructions below)
A ribbon bookmark is pinned into the top of the spine with a thumb tack,
and the spine is reinforced with a strip of duct tape or gaffer tape.

Higher quality paper reduces paper jams and printer errors.
For printing in Red‑Letter, or for Blue covers, or colour maps:
An InkTank printer carries extremely low ink cost and no cartridges.
The Dove Cover
The Dark Blue Cover
Print the Map of Galilee on the inside of the back cover.
To create special handmade covers:
Apply double‑sided tape to A4 white glossy card (front),
and the back of the Map of Galilee (back)
Apply a layer of:
Leatherette (black is the most popular), or Holographic adhestive paper
Match the ribbon to the cover
Example: Red ribbon with a black faux‑leather cover
Protect printed covers using clear adhesive school‑book plastic.
Add a thin strip of duct tape along the cover edges for style and reinforcement.
Note: Duct tape on leatherette becomes sticky over time — use gaffer tape instead, which remains stable.
Lay the book face‑down on its front cover.
Make sure all edges are neatly squared.
Using the staple gun, staple along the spine of the back cover,
1–2 cm away from the edge.
Separate the sections
Turn the book over.
Remove the front cover and any pages not yet stapled.
Place half of the book block (you are holding) back onto the stapled back cover.
Staple along the spine from the front through into the back.
Add the remaining pages and the front cover.
Staple again through the front into the spine.
